We all know Honda missed the trick in the Indian market by sticking with cross-overs and sedans. Though quite late, finally, Honda has woken up from its SUV slumber. In June, Honda unveiled the Elevate in India. Now we are going to get to drive the car (our review video dropping on 1st August). During the drive, Honda revealed all the information about the Elevate. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Honda Elevate. 

Design

The Honda Elevate is 4,312mm in length, 1,790mm in width & 1,650mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2,650mm and has a ground clearance of 220mm. Coming to the design, the Honda Elevate resembles to the WR-V. We have a very boxy design at the front with an upright grille design. We have a chrome element separating the grille from the bonnet and this flows into the DRL design. We have sharp-looking headlamps and fog lamps placed on the bumper. Side-profile is clean and does bear a resemblance to the Kia Seltos. Coming to the rear, we have inverted L-shaped tail lamps with a chrome plate in the middle. The Elevate comes with 458-litres of bootspace. The higher variants comes with a 215/55 R17 alloy wheel, while the lower variants get a 215/60 R16 steel wheel.

Honda Elevate SUV – Specifications

The Elevate is based on the same specifications as the City. So it also shares its specifications with the sedan. The Elevate comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a manual and a CVT gearbox. Honda claims that it can deliver a mileage of 15.31 with MT gearbox and 16.92 on the CVT gearbox. The front brakes are disc, while rear get drum brakes.

Features

Honda Elevate SUV

Honda knows that it will need features to take on the established players in this segment. The Elevate comes with some features like an electric sunroof, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless phone connectivity, a lane watch camera, connected car technology and wireless charging. Also, the Elevate comes with Honda Sensing which is basically ADAS. Other safety features include an 6-airbags, emergency stop signal, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist and rear parking sensor.

Honda has already opened the bookings of the Elevate. With the Media drives happening, Honda could soon announce the pricing of the Elevate. What about the pricing? We expect the Elevate to start from Rs 13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
