The SUV segment continues to grow at a rapid pace in the country. Even small SUVs like the Punch are bringing in good numbers and this has attracted the attention of other manufacturers. One such manufacturer is Hyundai which is entering this segment with the Exter. Recently it revealed the sketch design of the car and now the car has been leaked online. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Hyundai Exter.

Spy shots

New Hyundai Exter

These spy shots were posted by Seoul_car_spotting. Straight away at the front, we see an upright grille design with headlamps placed adjacent to them. As we move up, we can see the H-shaped DRL design and a big Hyundai logo similar to the Verna. Moving to the side, we can see a Brezza-ish design with subtle cuts and creases. Also, we have roof rails and a diamond-cut alloy wheel design. The rear has been spotted for the first time, we can see a grand i10 Nios-like spoiler. Again we have H-shaped taillamps and a gloss black element connecting them.

New Hyundai Exter – Specifications

The Exter is almost certain to come with several engine and transmission options. It is rumoured to come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol. The naturally aspirated engine could even come with a CNG option. What about a diesel engine option? Hyundai might skip a diesel engine due to the stringent emission norms. In terms of transmission, we could see a plethora of options with manual, iMT, AMT and a proper automatic expected.

Expected features

Hyundai will be looking to load the Exter with features to take on the Tata Punch. We expect features like a sunroof, a 10-inch infotainment, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging and much more.
