This car could rival the Tata Curvv!

Renault India has seen upwards sales since the launch of the Kiger. However, it has stuck a roadblock with sales plateauing a bit. Renault will have to do something different if it has to survive the Indian market. One car that Renault could bring is the Arkana to India. Coupe-SUVs are the next big thing with several manufacturers working on them. Tata is slated to launch the Curvv soon. Renault could out fox Tata by bringing the Arkana. The Arkana has been spotted a few times in the country. With the trend of coupe-SUVs expected to pick up, Renault seems to be readying itself. It could carve its segment as currently, we don’t have any cars in this category. Renault could also get the first movers advantage helping it garner some good sales.

Design

The Arkana is a coupe SUV and oozes that sporty vibe with its design. It gets flared fenders with a tapering roofline and bold front fascia. The overall design has a captur vibe but with a sporty touch. Other sporty elements include sporty dual exhausts, larger diamond-cut wheels, and a sleek headlamp design. 

Renault Arkana India – Features

The Arkana is a global product and thus comes with a decent amount of features. It could come with features like a fully digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, 9.3-inch infotainment system and a Bose sound system. Renault should also offer ADAS capabilities on the Indian version. 

Specifications

The Arkana is based on the CMF-B platform that used to underpin the Captur sold in India. Coming to the engine options, it gets two-petrol engine options. One is a 1.6-litre-strong hybrid setup with two electric motors and a clutchless dog box transmission. While the second engine option is a 1.3-litre turbo mild hybrid setup producing 138bhp of power. 

Renault Arkana India – Launch and pricing

According to reports, Renault is studying the feasibility of launching the Arkana in India. There is a high chance that Renault could bring the car through the CBU route in the country. This could mean premium pricing due to the added taxes. So Renault will have to justify that with the features and technology. It will compete with cars like the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and Volkswagen Tiguan.
