Rs 13 lakh SUV to rival the Grand Vitara
The C-SUV segment continues to drive the bulk of sales in the Indian market. This segment contains some heavyweights like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Maruti is also taking on this segment with the Grand Vitara. The Maruti SUV is doing decently for the brand, but an upcoming SUV could give a tough fight to the Grand Vitara. It is none other than the Honda C-SUV. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Honda SUV 2023.
Design highlights
Earlier this year, Honda released the first sketches of the Honda SUV. The sketch showed a muscular-looking SUV with eyebrow DRLs. Since then, the car has been spotted testing a few times. In the spy shots, we can see an upright grille design with sharp headlamps. The headlamps show some resemblance to the WR-V sold abroad. As we move to the side profile, we can see a clean design. The rear of the car is still a mystery, but we can expect inverted LED taillamps like the WR-V.
What else to expect?
According to earlier reports, this SUV will be based on the Amaze platform. It is expected to measure around 4,200mm to 4,300mm in length. Specification-wise, it could come with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. Honda plans to manufacture the hybrid system in India to lower the cost. What about features? The Honda SUV is expected to come with a big infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, sunroof, ventilated seats, ADAS, etc.
New Honda SUV 2023 – Launch timeline
Honda has confirmed that it plans to launch the all-new SUV in the summer of 2023. Honda could be planning to launch the SUV before the festive season for maximum traction. What about the pricing? Honda will have to price this SUV competitively to take on the established players. Once launched, the Honda SUV will rival products like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Toyota HyRyder, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
