Over the years, we see that the Himalayan is helping RE bank heavily with its adventure tourer ergonomics and renowned durability aspect. To continue the lineage of this legendary tourer, the makers of Himalayan have decided to oomph up the engine capacity with a 450cc. The bike has been spotted testing on the high plains of Ladakh. What else it has got? Read below for more details about the Himalayan 450.

Himalayan 450 – New Engine

Himalayan 450

Roya Enfield’s luminary adventure tourer is set to get a new single-cylinder 450cc engine. Thriving to be the first liquid-cooled motor from the brand, this will effectively reduce the strain on the engine in harsh conditions. This will not only increase the bike’s endurance while doing uphill off-road but also give it an upper hand during city conditions. This mill is likely to produce a grunting 40bhp of power paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Moreover, we also have a bunch of new features because this is not just going to be a powertrain update.

Himalayan 450 – New Design & Features

Himalayan 450

The bike has been spotted testing on some of the most challenging roads in India. It could only mean that RE is testing its new Himalayan for the worst offroad tackles you could throw at it. Therefore, its equipment list is likely to be loaded. Firstly, the design and looks are a huge departure from the current generation bike. The new one looks taller with a tyre hugging the front fender, a mono-shock at the rear, a side-slung exhaust, a large handlebar, etc.

If this doesn’t excite then it is also expected to get multiple new features. We could see dual channel ABS with offroad mode, digital instrument cluster, RE’s Tripper feature, LED lighting and more. Apart from this, we could also see a larger 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. If launched with all this tech and offroad gizmos, the new Himalayan 450 would prance heavy on the Yezdi Adventure, KTM 390 Adventure and BMW 310 GS. What about pricing? We can expect the pricing of this bike to mount due to the loaded list. The pricing could start above Rs 2.5lakh (ex-showroom).
