Maruti Jimny 5-door unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023

The Jimny is one of the most hyped-up cars in the country. It seemed like everyone had been waiting for Jimny. Maruti has finally taken the wraps off the Jimny at the Auto Expo. This is the 5-door Jimny that Maruti has unveiled in the country. In today’s article, let’s talk about Maruti Jimny 5-door 2023. 

Dimensions 

The Jimny 5-door is 3985mm in length, 1645mm in width and 1720mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2590mm and has a ground clearance of 210mm. Maruti is using tyres with a ratio of 195/55 R16. 

Design

The 5-door Jimny looks more or less identical to the 3-door version. Overall the car looks boxy without any cuts and creases. At the front, we have circular headlamps and a flat bonnet design. As we come to the side profile, we can see the extended wheelbase and length of the Jimny. Maruti is giving it stylish alloy wheels. At the rear, we have a side-opening door with a mounted tyre. Taillamps are placed lower on the bumper. 

Maruti Jimny 5-door 2023 – Specifications

Maruti has played safe with the specifications of the Jimny. It has gone with the tried and tested 1.5-litre K15B engine on the Jimny 5-door. We thought Maruti would give it a bigger engine but that has not been materialised. This K15B engine is capable of producing 101bhp and 130Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an a 4-speed automatic. The Jimny also comes with Allgrip Pro with low range transfer gear.

Interiors & Features

The Jimny is geared towards true off-road enthusiasts and it shows in its interiors. Its interiors are quite barebone with hard plastics used on various touch points. What about features? Maruti has loaded it with features. Some of the highlighted features are a auto headlamps, a 9-inch Arkamy’s surround sound system, cruise control, all power windows and basic Suzuki connect features. Safety features include 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, rear view camera, hill descent control etc.

Maruti Jimny 5-door 2023 – Variants and pricing

For now, Maruti has only unveiled the Jimny 5-door in India. But it has revealed the variant lineup which includes – Zeta and Alpha. Maruti plans to launch the SUV before the festive season to gain maximum traction. Pricing-wise, we expect a starting price below the Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
