The Ignis already looks like quite a rugged car, but Maruti will want to give it a proper makeover to take on the Tiago NRG. Maruti could change the grille design and tweak the bumpers. Another thing that could change is Maruti could give it more ground clearance. Maruti could also tweak the rear design to complete the fresh look. Lastly, Maruti could provide some funky graphics and colour options to attract new buyers.

The Ignis facelift could get the Duajet 1.2-litre engine that now powers all other Maruti cars in this price range. This engine is capable of producing 89bhp & 113Nm of torque, but power figures are not the strong points of this engine. Its speciality is its high fuel efficiency. So the Ignis could deliver better mileage compared to the Tiago NRG. Maruti could also give it CNG to take on the recently-launched Tiago NRG CNG.
