Design
Kia is likely to bring the fourth-generation Carnival MPV to the Indian Market. This would be a completely new gen model from the current car in India. This car is available for sale in the global market and has maintained Kia’s muscular and bold design language. Other design elements include sharp headlamps, LED DRL integrated into its signature Tiger Nose grille and an overall SUVish look. Talking about the dimensions, it measures 5,156mm in length, 1,994mm in width & 1,740mm in height. It sits on an impressive wheelbase of 3,090mm.
Innova HyCross rival – Features
The fourth generation Carnival is a step above if we compare it with the current car. The interiors of the current model do look outdated but this new-gen model would completely change it. The new car gets an updated layout for the dashboard with a fully digital instrument cluster and a larger infotainment system. Overall, the premium quotient has been increased in the car by retaining its existing features. Additional features would include ADAS (level 2), more connected car features, leg extensions, wing-out headrests and ventilated seats and more. Another highlight could be its seating capacity of 11 people which might lure buyers.
Specifications
The global model of the Carnival is available with a 3.5-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes around 291bhp and 197bhp respectively. This mill comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, there are wee chances that the petrol engine could make its way to India due to the emission and taxation norms. What could Kia do? The South Korean automaker could simply implant the 2.2-litre diesel engine which powers the current car. This 2.2-litre diesel is capable of making 197bhp and 440Nm of torque. This setup comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Innova HyCross rival – Launch and Pricing
As aforementioned, Kia has imported the Carnival MPV to India which it is likely to showcase at the Auto Expo 2023. Only then, we can expect a proper launch in the upcoming months of next year. As far as pricing is concerned this new-gen model would be more costly than the current model. The pricing of the current car starts at Rs 37.83lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and ends at Rs 43.23lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
