Ola Electric is bringing the big EV revolution into the Indian market. The brand and its CEO, Bhavish Aggrawal, have been quite adamant that it wants to end the ‘ICE’ age. Since the launch of the Ola S1 Pro, Ola has brought Move OS updates and launched the Ola S1. However, today Ola is going a step further. It has launched a new lite version of the Ola S1 pro and has launched the Move OS 3 update. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Ola S1 Pro and Move OS 3.

Ola has launched a new base variant of the Ola S1 called the Ola S1 Air. So what has Ola done? The S1 Air visually gets some changes, like a plastic bumper and a completely flat footboard. What about the specifications? The S1 Air gets a 4.5kW hub motor paired with a 2.5kW battery pack. With these specs, the Ola S1 Air gets a 100km claimed range in eco mode and a 0-40kmph time of 4.3 seconds. In terms of features, it gets three driving modes, reverse mode, a companion app, vacation mode etc. Reservations for the Ola S1 Air will start today, and deliveries will begin in April 2023. What about the pricing? The Ola S1 Air starts from Rs 85,000 (ex-showroom), but if you reserve the scooter before 24th October the pricing will be Rs 80,000.

Move OS 3

Alongside the Ola S1 Air, Ola also announced the Move OS 3 update. In this Ola has added several new software features. The first of them is the proximity unlock, where the scooter senses you nearby and automatically unlocks the scooter. There is also a vacation mode that will send the scooter into a power conservation mode for up to 200 days. You can also customise the instrument cluster and sound of the scooter in different modes. Also, you can view calls on the scooter, and an auto-reply will also be sent. Ola has also added a party mode and coloured DRL option. When will it be launched? Move OS 3 beta sign-up will start on the 25th of October and rollout to all S1 owners will be done by December.

In the end, Ola also teased the Ola car showing its dashboard and exterior design. First, let’s talk about the exterior design; we can see an aggressive front design with DRL running through the bonnet. From the overall looks, it looks like a coupe SUV. What about the dashboard? We can spot a F1 styled ‘Yoke’ steering wheel, something we see on Tesla cars.
