The Grand Vitara is Maruti’s latest product to enter the SUV segment. With the Grand Vitara, Maruti is looking to take on evergreen Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Maruti is however taking a different approach with a hybrid setup and bigger dimensions. In today’s article, let’s take a look at all details of this SUV.
Design
The Grand Vitara is 4345mm long, 1795mm wide & 1645mm tall. The wheelbase is 2600mm & ground clearance is 210mm. What about design? This one looks quite different from its cousin, the Toyota HyRyder. Overall, the car looks contemporary and futuristic with its connected tail lamp design. At the front, we have a big grille & headlamps placed on the bumper.
New Maruti Grand Vitara – Specifications
This SUV only comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. We have different hybrid setups: a mild hybrid & a strong hybrid. Mild hybrid setup (1.5-litre with ISG) makes 103bhp & 137Nm of torque. What about the strong hybrid? The strong hybrid makes 113bhp & 122Nm of torque. Grand Vitara’s secret weapon is the AWD system. It offers a claimed mileage of 27.97kmpl with the strong hybrid setup.
Features
Highlights include panoramic sunroof, a 9.0-inch infotainment system, HUD, wireless charging, connected car technology, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster & a 360-degree camera. Safety features include six airbags, ESP with hill-hold assist and TPMS.
New Maruti Grand Vitara – Launch
Maruti will be launching the SUV by the end of September. Expect it to be a few thousand rupees cheaper than the HyRyder. Expected to start from Rs 17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
