Maruti has recently launched the New Brezza. The new car is an extensive update over its predecessor with respect to design and features. Complementing the SUV look, Maruti has loaded the Brezza with some new creature features. It is also said to be Maruti’s initial mass market car equipped with a sunroof. Another advantage worth mentioning would be its functional roof rails which are not available in any of its rivals. Now, indeed having all these perks over its competition is surely favoring the Brezza. However, Maruti has one more plan to steal the no.1 position from its prominent rival- Tata Nexon. How will Maruti do that? Will it launch the Maruti Brezza CNG? What could it get? Let us read about it.

Maruti Brezza CNG

Maruti is known as the largest car maker in the country. Whereas, the absence of diesel engines has made some buyers think twice about buying their SUVs. Therefore, to increase the buyer’s appeal and reduce fuel costs, the brand is focused on the bi-fuel CNG option. Maruti has the widest range of factory-fitted CNG cars available. It has 7 cars offered with CNG that include the newly launched Swift, Eeco, Alto, WagonR, Dzire, and more. With the increasing demand from customers, it is touted that Brezza could be the next car to get the factory-fitted S-CNG technology.

Maruti Brezza CNG- Any Changes?

Maruti Brezza CNG

Maruti recently updated the Brezza to stay in line with its competition. The current generation Brezza is more loaded than before and houses many features. The CNG version would be similar to the pure petrol in terms of features and design. It would get all the bells and whistles with the addition of the CNG telematics in the MID and the fuel change switch below the driver-side AC vent. Other than that it would get the CNG tank taking space from its 328 litres of boot space. The car could also get some CNG badges on the exterior as well as the CNG stickers on the windscreen.

Performance?

Maruti Brezza CNG

Brezza gets the updated K15C engine which is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit. This engine is capable enough to make 101bhp & 136Nm of torque. The gearbox options of the Brezza are a 5-speed manual and a torque convertor AT. However, things would not be the same for the Brezza CNG. You will get the K15C petrol engine but the power figures would see a slight decrease due to the CNG nature. Moreover, the CNG model would be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox option only.

According to Maruti, it is looking forward to eradicating the ‘pure-petrol’ fuel setup. In the near future, Maruti would have more bi-fuel, hybrid, and EVs. In addition, as there is no compact SUV available with a CNG option, it is highly likely that Maruti could launch the Brezza CNG in the upcoming year.
