2 more Citroen cars coming this year?

Citroen is slowly establishing its footprint in the Indian market. In two years, it has launched the C5 Aircross and C3. Citroen had just one launch last year, however, this year, it has plans to go completely aggressive with more products planned in its lineup. Citroen has plans to bring two more cars by the end of this year for the buyers here. So what are these cars? In today’s article, let’s talk about them.

C5 Aircross facelift

The C5 Aircross is the brand’s marquee product in India. Even with low sales, the C5 Aircross remains quite an important product in Citroen’s lineup. Earlier this year, Citroen launched its facelift in Europe. According to reports, Citroen is planning to launch the facelifted C5 Aircross in September. In this facelift, the premium mid-size SUV gets some subtle design changes at the front and rear. It gets a slightly tweaked grille and new DRLs. At the rear, we will get to see blacked-out tail lamps. What about the interiors? The C5 Aircross facelift now gets a new 10.0-inch floating infotainment system. While at it, Citroen has also updated the central console by adding revised switchgear. Any specification changes are not expected.

New Citroen cars – Affordable EV

Citroen is also working on an affordable electric option for the Indian market. A few months back, Citroen’s CEO confirmed that the brand is working on an affordable electric vehicle for the country. The Citroen EV is to be based on the CMP platform like the C3. The CMP is a modular platform giving Citroen a lot of freedom with its use. What about the range? According to reports, Citroen could offer a 30kWh or 40kWh battery pack giving it an approximate range of around 250km to 300km on a single charge. Citroen could position the EV as the premium version of the C3 with better interiors and features. When can Citroen launch it? Here comes the surprising part. According to rumours, Citroen may unveil this EV by the end of this year. A proper launch might happen in the first half of 2023.
