VW’s updated Polo GTI was caught testing in the out skirts of Pune. The Polo GTI is scheduled to be launched around March 2016.

The updated VW Polo GTI, which is to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo, was caught on camera whilst on test. This car is due to be launched around March 2016 and is expected to be a major step up from the existing Polo and not a cosmetic upgrade.

The Polo GTI will be India’s most powerful hot-hatch when launched.

It’s powered by a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder TSI from the VW Group’s EA888 engine family, which generates 187 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The model sold in other markets is offered with a choice between a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic unit.

The interior features sport seats with part tartan upholstery, new steering wheel, and contrast red stitching and aluminium pedals.
