Although MX is the base variant, it still comes loaded with features. This trim gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four-speaker sound system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, Smart Door handles, all-adjustable headrests, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering wheel and Android Auto and a few others. Looking at the feature list, the MX variant offers quite a few important features that make it worth considering.

Now this is where the XUV700 shines. The MX trim is available in two engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mStallion engine that makes 197bhp & 380Nm of torque (mind, this is the same engine that powers the top variants as well) while the second is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 153bhp & 360Nm of torque. The MX trim is only available in a six-speed manual gearbox. Powerful engine options play a major role in enhancing the overall VFM of the car as well as this variant.

The MX petrol costs Rs 15.85 lakhs whereas the MX diesel costs Rs 16.73 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra XUV700 MX variant – Is it worth it?

The MX variant comes out to be a great blend of features and power. The XUV700 shines bright in the engine department, even with its base variant. For buyers who are purely looking at a powerful machine and are not concerned too much about features, the MX variant definitely makes a lot of sense. Rivals at its price point might offer more features but do surely fall short in the powertrain department. All-in-all, considering the XUV700 MX variant is definitely worth it.
