You’ve seen the spy shots, the camouflaged mules doing the rounds across the country and have been clued in to all the updates that we’ve been bringing you guys on TVS’ plans to launch not one, but two new motorcycles. Well, the wait is finally over, as TVS took the wraps off their all-new executive commuter – the Victor 2016 and their fastest motorcycle in the line-up, the Apache RTR 200 4V here in Chennai today.

The Apache RTR series has always been aimed at racing enthusiasts and the Apache RTR 200 4V continues in the same tradition. An out-and-out street-fighter, the Apache RTR 200 4V strikes a muscular stance. This is further enhanced by rather beefy looking tank extensions and the cowl that covers the underbelly. Overall, the Apache RTR 200 4V looks like it has spent equal amount of time in both, the gym pumping iron, as well as the wind-tunnel. The Apache 200 has a length of 2050mm, while being 790mm wide. It sports a 1353mm wheelbase and stands 1105mm tall. TVS have given the motorcycle a 180mm ground clearance and a kerb weight of 148 kg (148.5 kg for the EFI equipped version).

The single-cylinder, 197cc motor is essentially a bored out (and thoroughly revised) version of the one found in the Apache 180. Oil-cooled with ram-air trick-tech, the Apache RTR 200 4V will be available in both, carburetted as well as EFI variants. TVS is aiming for usable power and has tuned the motorcycle for best performance in the 2000-7000 rpm range. Both variants do the zero-sixty in 3.9 seconds, with the ton coming up in 12.1 seconds. The max speed on the EFI variant is 2 km/h higher at 129 km/h (carb variant tops out at 127 km/h).

The Apache RTR 200 4V rides on 17-inch alloys shod with Remora compound tires. It will also be offering, specially designed, Pirelli tires on the top-end variant. In the braking department, the Apache 200 is hauled in by Petal-disc brakes at the front and back (270mm & 240mm respectively).

TVS have announced that the Apache RTR 200 4V will be offered from a starting price of INR 97,900 for the base, carburetted variant. The EFI + Pirelli tire version will be offered from INR 1.17 Lakhs. The range topping, dual-channel equipped variant shall arrive at a later stage and will be priced from INR 1.26 Lakhs. All prices, on-road, Delhi.

Meanwhile, TVS Motors also unveiled the all-new Victor executive commuter motorcycle alongside the Apache RTR 200 4V today. Powered by a 110cc engine, the all-new Victor makes about 9.5 bhp and 9.4 Nm torque. It gets a first-in-class, CV carburettor to help with better fuelling and throttle response. Held together by an all-new frame design, the TVS Victor stretches 1980mm from end-to-end with a 1260mm wheelbase. The all-new Victor sits 1090mm tall and sports a ground clearance of 175mm. TVS have focussed heavily on reducing the weight and as a result, the all-new Victor tips the scales at a scant 112 kg for the electric start, alloy-wheel drum-brake version. The disc-brake version is only a kilogram heavier.

TVS have lavished a great deal of attention on the all-new Victor. From serious NVH tuning to focussing on every performance and rider convenience feature, TVS have left no stone unturned in making this Victor the best that has ever been. It gets the longest seat in its class that’s wide enough for a large section of people. The headlight is a special 60-watt affair with a beam that covers the most distance and is the brightest in its class.

The all-new Victor is priced at INR 54,500 for the drum brake version and INR 57,000 for the disc brake version (both prices, on-road, Delhi). TVS Motors have invested close to INR 300 Crores towards the development of both motorcycles.
