Tata Punch has successfully reignited the micro-SUV segment in India. Indians have showered it with love by making it one of the best selling SUVs in our country and that too very quickly. Recently, Tata introduced the Kaziranga Edition for its SUV lineup. With this edition, Tata gave quite a few premium features to its existing SUVs. However, the Punch only received minor cosmetic changes. But now, Tata is expected to give the Punch a new special edition. With this edition, we could see the DCA coming to the Punch. In today’s article, we will discuss about Tata Punch DCA and other details.

Why a new variant?

Tata has been following quite a unique strategy. They bring a special edition for their car and load it with new features. After some time, Tata introduces these features on other regular variants as well. We expect Tata to bring another special edition for the micro SUV in the coming time. As mentioned above, Tata could bring the DCA gearbox to the Punch. The variant could sport DCA badging and some subtle design changes. Tata may also give it some new features like air purifier and auto-dimming IRVM to attract more customers.

Why a DCA gearbox?

Currently, the Tata Punch comes with a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Tata has tuned the AMT gearbox quite well but it still can’t match the smoothness of a DCT gearbox. Tata recently launched its DCA gearbox on the Altroz. Considering Punch comes with the same engine, it makes sense for Tata to introduce the DCA gearbox on it.

Tata Punch DCA – Launch & Pricing

Tata has not yet confirmed anything about the Punch DCA but the above-mentioned points prove to be a strong case for the brand to do something on these lines. In terms of pricing, Tata could charge a premium of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh for the DCA variants as it did with the Altroz DCA.
