2015 was a significant year for Mercedes Benz India.

They took the title for the highest selling luxury brand in India for the first time since their launch.

And now it looks like they are not ready to stop. They have already launched the GLE couple this month and have confirmed a couple of more reveals at the Auto Expo that is to be held in Greater Noida next month.

Mercedes Benz confirmed that they are set to reveal its all new GLC and S-Class Cabriolet to ensure that 2016 will be as successful a year to them as 2015. The S 600 guard as well as the Mercedes-AMG F1 car will share the space.

The GLC will compete with the liked of the Audi’s Q5 and BMW X3 and is said to be prices head on with the others.

Like the name suggests, the GLC will be based on the C-Class with similar swooping lines and smooth flowing interiors. India will initially get two diesel versions, the 220d with 168bhp and 250d with 201bhp, both from its 2.1-litre four-cylinder engine and it is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2016.

A GLC 350 3.0-litre petrol V6 version could come later.

Additionally looking to capitalize on the success of its new S-Class, Mercedes Benz India would like to keep the momentum going. They are ready to offer all its versions of the S-Class to make sure all the segments are tapped into. The latest to be offered is the cabriolet version of the S coupe. This is the first time after 1971 that Mercedes Benz has made a couple version of its S-Class.
