Why is Hyundai Venue no longer the best-selling SUV?
The Venue was Hyundai’s answer to the Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza. After its launch in 2019, it was the best selling SUV for several months. Venue still pulls in decent sales for Hyundai but has lost its best selling SUV crown to other SUVs. In today’s article, we will see why the Hyundai Venue is no longer the best-selling SUV.
Tata Nexon and Punch
The Nexon has had a rapid sales rise since last year. It has been raking over 10K sales. In Q1 of 2022, it was the best selling SUV with 40,390 units sold. So Nexon has been taking sales away from Venue. The other Tata car that has been doing quite well is the Punch. The Punch has recorded a sale of 30,145 units in Q1 of 2022. As you can see, the Punch seems to be taking sales from the Venue.
Hyundai Venue sales- Outdated & facelift coming
The Venue has not received any update since its launch in 2019. So it does feel outdated when compared to the Kia Sonet and Nissan Magnite. Hyundai knows this and is working on a facelift for the Venue. The Venue facelift is expected to be launched by the end of this year. Several customers are waiting for the facelifted model and holding their purchase affecting its sales.
Fewer features than newer cars
The Venue, when launched, was one of the most feature-loaded cars in its segment. But newer cars like the Kia Sonet and Magnite have taken the crown from the Venue. Considering features, were its biggest USP, now it has been struggling to get in the same number of sales.
