Dwayne Johnson has announced that he will be producing a new TV show called ‘Boost Unit’. This show will be based on a real-life street unit of the Police (LAPD) and is being developed by Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions alongwith 20th Century Fox and Imperative Entertainment.

The show is likely to be made in the ‘Fast & Furious’ movie style involving several car chases and stunts. Dwayne Johnson, better known as ‘The Rock’ may also be a part of the starcast. The police unit described in the show will be based in Los Angeles, where the police officers operate undercover, in their own cars. It will specially focus on car crimes but also look at terrorism, bomb threats, thefts and drug trafficking.

Dwayne Johnson said “We’re bringing to life the high-stakes street pursuits and grueling work of this very specialized elite task force and we’re excited to partner with Imperative Entertainment to combine an epic mix of gripping action and sophisticated storytelling.”

Car/bike-based TV shows have been popular all over the world, including India, right from the days of Knight Rider and Street Hawk. The excitement and adrenaline rush of Fast & Furious will finally come on the small screen.
