Yamaha as a brand needs no introduction in the world of bikes. They have a variety of bikes in their global line-up. However, most Yamaha bikes do not make their way to India. Yamaha XSR 155

Yamaha XSR 155 is a naked neo-retro-looking motorcycle. It shares many of its parts with the R15, including the frame and the engine. This bike runs on a 155cc liquid-cooled petrol engine that produces 19.3bhp & 14.7Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Yamaha XSR 155 will cost you Rs 1.45 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Yamaha R3 is a fully-faired sports bike with a committed riding position. It runs on a 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 42bhp & 29.6Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. If Yamaha launches the R3 in India, it would be directly competing with the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Other rivals in this segment would be TVS Apache RR310 and KTM RC390. The new R3 might cost you somewhere around Rs 3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Yamaha MT-03

Yamaha MT-03 is a streetfighter bike with a sporty riding posture. It is powered by the same engine that powers the R3. That is a 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 42bhp & 29.6Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It would find its rivals in the BMW G310R and the KTM Duke 390 in India. We expect the pricing of the MT-03 to start from Rs 3.4 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Yamaha R7

Yamaha R7 is a mid-weight, fully-faired sports bike with an aggressive riding posture. The new R15 V4 has got its looks from this bike. This bike runs on a 689cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that makes 72bhp & 67Nm of torque. In India, it would be competing with the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Triumph Trident 660. The R7 could be priced somewhere around Rs 8 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Yamaha R6 is a mid-weight, fully-faired, super-sports track bike. It has got an aggressive and committed seating stance. Compared to a litre-class track bike, it is a friendly entry-level track bike. The R6 runs on a 600cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-cylinder engine that makes 118bhp & 62Nm of torque. In global markets, it competes with Kawasaki ZX-6R and Honda CBR600RR. In India, it might be priced somewhere around Rs 12 lakhs (ex-showroom).
