Nissan currently sells Kicks and Magnite in India. Out of these, only Magnite contributes to the overall sales of Nissan majorly. Kicks did not perform well in the market due to its missed pricing and lack of features. The Kicks does need a major update to survive in the Indian market. Although it has been updated in the global market, it has not been for India. To tackle this, we are expecting Nissan to bring in the Kicks facelift to further boost its sales in the country which are somehow being balanced with the sole help of Magnite. In this article, we will take a look at what we can expect from this new Japanese SUV.

New Japanese SUV – Design

The Nissan Kicks is a five-seater C-segment SUV. The Kicks facelift gets a huge front grille with raised bumpers as we see in the Magnite. The headlamps have also been heavily re-worked and will give the front a new look. It does get muscular wheel arches on the sides. We are expecting new colours for the exterior. Punchy colours will help Kicks give out a modern and fresh vibe.

Interior

The Nissan Kicks facelift might get a lot of change in the interior as well. A new dashboard layout, new steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system could be some of the important additions. The Kicks will continue to get a 360-degree parking camera and NissanConnect with 50+ connected car features. We are also expecting new leather upholstery on seats.

New Japanese SUV – Engine

The Nissan Kicks facelift might continue to get the same engines as the current generation. This means that it will come powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 105bhp & 142Nm of torque and a powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 154bhp & 254Nm of torque. These engines will get a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, or an X-TRONIC CVT gearbox.

New Japanese SUV – Pricing and Competition

We expect the Nissan Kicks facelift to start from somewhere around Rs 10 lakhs (ex-showroom). This car would face competition from other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. Even Renault is looking to bring in the new-generation Duster to India. That too could be a major threat to the Kicks.
