The new Bolero will be based on the new ladder on frame architecture. Mahindra uses the same platform for the new-generation Thar and Bolero Neo as well. Coming to the engine specs, it will mostly get the 1.5-litre diesel engine of XUV300. This engine is capable of producing 115bhp & 300Nm of torque. Another option will be the 2.2-litre diesel engine of Thar. We don’t think it will come with petrol engine options. Transmission options will include manual and automatic gearboxes.

Guessing the price of the Bolero, considering how aggressively Mahindra has priced the XUV700 is tricky. The current Bolero starts from Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom), but we think the new-generation Bolero could start from somewhere around Rs 8 lakh. Mahindra has confirmed it will launch this new generation between 2023 and 2024.
