Slowly but steadily information about the TVS Apache RTR 200 are trickling down online. The motorcycle which is reported to make its global launch on January 20 has been spied up close in Indonesia with two different tyres, suggesting that two options could be on offer.

The slightly lower-spec variant is likely to come shod with IRC tyres while the range-topping variant would adopt upmarket Pirelli rubbers.

There is also a chance that the company is testing the bike’s handling and ride when equipped with possible after market upgrade options. The main rivals for the new bike  are the Duke 200 and the Pulsar NS 200 and they have already taken up most of the market share.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 is expected to outperform its rival in almost all performance parameters.

Powertrain details are still unclear but expect the air-cum-oil-cooled FI engine to displace around 200 cc. Power output is expected in the range of 26-28 PS.

The motor will come mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The range-topping TVS Apache RTR 200 variant would be offered with dual-channel ABS while a petal disc at each wheel will come as standard equipment. Other noteworthy features include a digital dashboard, muscular fuel tank with extensions, LED taillights and an interesting design for the exhaust canister.
