US Embassy supports Delhi’s move on odd/even restrictions

The US Embassy, in a statement confirmed its support to the government’s decision on odd/even rule to put a check on rising levels of pollution and traffic.

The traffic and pollution levels in and around Delhi have reached alarming levels and this move is meant to put a stop to it and reduce it to safer levels.

There has been a lot of opposition to this rule but in a unexpected move the US Embassy is supporting the government on this particular issue.

Whilst embassy vehicles are except from this rule, the US embassy said in a statement that they will comply, to a degree possible, with the ruling. They have asked its employees to car pool or use public transport.

This is a big morale boost for the government who is currently taking a big slack over odd/even ruling. The said rule is to be imposed in January of 2016.
