Volkswagen Ameo spotted inside out

The Volkswagen Ameo has been spotted inside and out this time around. The new compact sedan will be under four metres and it is based on the Volkswagen Polo platform. The Volkswagen Ameo will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Volkswagen Ameo will be manufactured in Volkswagen’s Chakan plant. 

The new Volkswagen Ameo will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that will churn about 75bhp of power, a 1.

5-litre diesel engine producing 89bhp and the 1.2-litre TSI churning 103bhp and mated to a seven-speed DSG. There is a good chance of seeing 1.

0-litre TSI that will be replacing the 1.2-litre petrol. Volkswagen is planning to use this engine on other products too.

The Volkswagen Ameo will have headlamps with daytime running LEDs, a new front end, LED tail lamps, a new touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, reverse parking camera etc. The new Ameo has been tailor-made for the Indian car market itself.

The new Ameo will be competing with the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the Hyundai XCent.
