Kia has recently unveiled its latest MUV in the market – the Carens in India. As we know the Kia, this car gets many features, and also some first in segment features. Kia also promises that Carens is a safe MPV. Let’s know in detail about Kia Carens variants, specifications, colors and more.
Exterior
The Kia Carens is a long six-seater or seven-seater MPV. In the front, it has the digital radiator grille which gives Carens a Kia’s tiger face look. It gets a star map LED DRLs with the crown jewel headlamps below it. Looking from the side view, it is long and looks like an MPV. It has the door cladding with chrome on it. A chrome stripe is lining below the window and runs till the rear quarter glass. From the rear, it resembles the Kia Sonet like brake lights are connected by a reflector. It will be the first in the segment to get a sunroof. Overall, the new Kia Carens looks good.
Interior
There is a lot more to talk about the interior. The interior welcomes you with a flat-bottom steering wheel with controls for the infotainment system and Cruise control mounted on it. Behind the steering, there is an all-digital MID with a color display in between. It has a 10.25-inch big infotainment system. It also gets 64-color mood ambient lighting inside which makes the car look premium.. In the middle row, you will get an option for the captain seats as well as a bench seat.
Features
As it is Kia, it is covered with a bunch of features packed in. For safety, along with ABS, EBD, ESC, and parking sensors, It has, HAC, VSM, DBC, BAS, TPMS Highline, six airbags and all wheel disc brakes standard for all the variants. It gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system with eight speakers Bose premium sound system. It has next-gen Kia connect with 60+ connected car tech features. In the MID, it gets a digital speedometre dial and tachometre dial. In between, it has a color display which shows other information about the car. It gets an option for the front ventilated seats. In the middle row, it has a one-touch seat tumble feature. It also gets a smart air purifier with virus and bacteria protection.
Engine and Platform
The new Kia Carens will be build using high-tensile steel and adhesives. It will be offered in three different engine options and two transmission options. The first is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 113bhp & 250Nm, the second is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 113bhp & 144Nm, and the third one is a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 138bhp & 242Nm. All the engines are mated with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DCT gearbox.
Variants and colors
The New Kia Carens will be available in five variants like Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury plus. It will be available in seven different colors – Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, and Glacier White Pearl.
Price and Competitors
The price is expected to be between Rs 14 lakhs to Rs 24 lakhs on road. As it is an MPV, It will compete with the Suzuki XL6, Mahindra Marazzo, Innova Crysta and also the Hyundai Alcazar.
