Major Disruptor ALERT – Next Generation Maruti Swift

Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the best-selling hatchbacks from India’s leading brand, Maruti Suzuki. The car received a facelift last year, however, Maruti Suzuki will now be bringing a generation update for this hatchback. The new generation Maruti Swift will be a considerable upgrade over the current Maruti Swift. In this article, we will discuss what the next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will offer its buyers.

Next Generation Maruti Swift Dimensions

Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Swift measures 3845mm in length, 1735mm in width, 1530mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm, and a ground clearance of 170mm. The new generation Swift will continue to get the same wheelbase as it will be based on the Heartect platform. However, there will be minor changes in other dimensions to improve cabin space.

Next Generation Maruti Swift Exterior Styling

The next generation Swift will also get cosmetic changes on the exterior. The headlamps, DRL, and tail lamps will get a new design. Also, the front and rear bumpers will be redesigned along with the boot lid.  The next generation will continue to carry forward some design elements from the current generation but the car will be easily identified as an upgraded version of the current Swift. The Swift will also get a blacked-out front grille and newly designed alloy wheels that will make the car look even sportier.

Interior

The interiors of the car will also undergo a major revamp. A revised dashboard layout and new upholstery will add to the fresh look of this car. The cabin color scheme is also expected to be improved. We might get to see improved cabin space that will offer better legroom, shoulder room, and headroom inside the cabin.

Features

Maruti Suzuki has already offered a lot of features in the Swift, however, new technology & features would be added to keep the car fresh. The next generation Maruti Swift will be equipped with the latest technology. Features like a big floating touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, connected car tech and a few other features are expected to be on the feature list.

Engine

Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine that produces 89bhp & 113Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a five-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed AMT gearbox. We expect the next generation Maruti Swift to get the same engine & gearbox combination. Although we wish the Swift gets a hybrid engine and a Boosterjet engine, we will have to wait to see if the next generation car will come with these options as well.
