Indian army can do THIS to a Gypsy?

The Indian Army and Paramilitary forces are counted as one of the most powerful armies in the world. Though it is known for its brute force, the army is also famous for its clever and sleek nature. These skills were shown by Border Security Forces (BSF) in a recently held event. In this event, the BSF dismantled a Maruti Gypsy. In today’s article, we will see how the Indian army dismantled and reassembled the Gypsy in two minutes. 

What was the event?

The Border Security Forces (BSF) jawans performed the Chetak Drill on the occasion of the 57th BSF Raising Day Parade. This BSF Raising Day Parade was held in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The BSF Raising Day Parade is celebrated as the foundation day of the BSF, which was formed in 1965. This event was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BSF DG Pankaj Kumar Singh. 

What was the Drill?

The BSF performed the Chetak drill, which involves dismantling a car completely and then reassembling it. For this event, the BSF used the army Gypsies. The drill starts with eight Jawans in the Gypsy riding on the centre stage. The bonnet is the first part to be removed by two Jawans. Then two officers start unscrewing the engine while the other Jawans continue with removing the doors and other chassis components. Once the engine is detached, the Jawans lift the chassis and move it to one side.  Then the engine block is removed from the rear chassis. In the end, the wheels are removed from the chassis completing the dismantling.

Indian army reassembling

Then the Jawans quickly start the reassembling process by reattaching the wheels to the chassis. Then they put the engine back in its position and reattach the tyres. After this, the upper chassis is put back on with the wires. The rest of the components, like the doors and bonnet, are quickly reattached. The Jawans quickly start and zoom off amid applause from the crowd. This entire drill consisting of dismantling and reassembling the Gypsy was done in under two minutes.
