The new-generation Scorpio will also continue the legacy and come with a rear-wheel drive.

The new Scorpio will come loaded with new features. Some features are to be included for the first time in a Scorpio. Dual-zone climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, premium sound system could be some of them.

Other features like projector headlamps, DRLs, LED tail lamps, rear AC vents, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, push start-stop, keyless entry, connected car technology, etc. will also be included. This new avatar of Scorpio will also have some remarkable safety features like six airbags, ABS+EBD, traction control, ESP including a few others.

Mahindra Scorpio is currently 4456mm in length, 1820mm in width, 1995mm in height with a wheelbase of 2680mm, and ground clearance of 180mm. The new generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to see its dimensions improve with the new car being a bit longer and taller.

The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to come powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. A 2.0-litre mStallion 150TGDi petrol engine that produces 150bhp & 300Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual & six-speed automatic transmission is expected. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine from the Mahindra XUV700’s MX variants is expected to power the new-generation Scorpio as well. This produces 153bhp and 360Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual & six-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing

After looking at the way Mahindra placed its XUV700 and priced it at such a lucrative position, we expect a similar move from them concerning the new generation Scorpio as well. Mahindra is expected to price this seven-seater SUV under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
