Let’s compare the dimensions of both cars and see which is bigger. The Hyundai Creta stands 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, and 1635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2610mm and a ground clearance of 190mm. The Hyundai Creta SX(O) variant is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine produces 138bhp and 242Nm of torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. These engines come with an option of CVT and a DCT gearbox. The XUV700 AX5 variant gets petrol and diesel engines as well. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 200bhp and 380Nm of torque. While the 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 185bhp and 450Nm of torque. These engines come mated to a manual gearbox and also have an option of automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Creta SX(O) gets features like a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system, ambient lighting, connected car technology, driving modes, front row ventilated seats and wireless charging. While the XUV700 AX5 variant gets a panoramic sunroof which they call a Skyroof, six-speaker sound system, sequential turn indicators, connected car technology, 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system, and digital instrument cluster.

Pricing

The price of the Hyundai Creta SX(O) variant starts from Rs21.06 lakh and goes up to 21.33 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The price of Mahindra XUV700 AX5 five-seater variant petrol with manual transmission goes to Rs 17.97 lakh (on-road, Mumbai ), While AX5 Petrol Automatic is priced at 19.88 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The diesel variant of XUV700 AX5 with manual transmission is priced at 19.03 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and the diesel automatic is priced at Rs 20.94 (on-road, Mumbai). All options under the AX5 variant of the Mahindra XUV700 are well priced below the current price of Hyundai Creta.

Verdict

The XUV700 AX5 emerges as a winner when the value for money is the deciding factor. You get a bigger car for a lesser amount paid. You get a bigger engine, more boot space, and almost the same features for a price that’s less than what you would end up paying for Hyundai Creta SX(O) variant.
