Tata Tiago is an entry-level hatchback from Tata Motors. It’s been a best seller from Tata Motors followed by Nexon and Altroz. Recently we saw Tata Motors gave a cosmetic change to Tiago and launched the Tiago NRG variant of this car. In this article, we will discuss what more Tata Motors could do in the coming future to make Tigao even better than it is currently and can it potentially become a challenger to the Maruti Swift.

Alfa Architecture Platform

Currently, the Tiago is built on the X0 platform. Tata might soon start building the Tiago on its ALFA Architecture (Agile, Light, Flexible, and Advance). Tata Altroz and Punch are the cars that are built on the ALFA Arch Platform. Building a car on its most reliable platform will make the Tiago even better at safety and durability. Currently, the car is built on Impact 2.0 design language. The new Tiago will be built on Impact 3.0 design language.

Tata Tiago New Features

Tata might give in some segment-first features in the Tiago to attract more buyers. A smart band key, as they give in Altroz. The Tiago could get a TFT digital display and adjustable headrests for all four seats. In addition to that we expect the car to get automatic headlamps, cruise control, engine automatic start stop and ambient lighting.

Tata Tiago New Generation

The recent facelift Tiago got was in 2019. So we expect a new generation of Tiago to come by end of 2023. This will come with a BS6 compliant engine, better safety features, and an overall improved driving experience.

Better NCAP ratings

Tiago currently managed to score a 4-star adult safety rating and a 3-star child safety rating. With the New Tiago being built on the ALFA Arch platform, the safety of the car is expected to improve. This means Tata Tiago could score a better rating at Global NCAP, making it the safest car in the entry-level hatchback segment.

Changes in dimensions

Currently, the Tiago stands long at 3765mm, wide at 1677mm, and tall at 1535mm with a wheelbase of 2400mm. The new Tiago we expect to be around 3865mm long, 1755mm wide, and 1540mm tall with a wheelbase of around 2500mm. With the overall increase in dimensions, the Tiago will be bigger than its current version. This means improved cabin space and some extra boot space in the new Tiago.

With all these current features working in favor of Tata Tiago, one thing is for sure, we are going to see more on this car in the coming days. And it will be become a proper Swift rival.
