Tata Motors had displayed the Hexa at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and now it has been spotted on test by Gautam.

This Hexa’s test mule has been spotted in Pune and the Indian automaker now seems to be ready to launch the Hexa sometime next year. The Hexa is based on the X2 platform on which the Aria and the new Safari Storme are made too.

The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.

2-litre diesel engine that will be producing about 170bhp of power and will come mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The Hexa is a siz-seater MUV and this is the re-done Aria. Tata had done something similar to the Vista and the result is the Bolt. The Hexa, however hasn’t just got an update on its engine, but even suspension and other bits. The automatic transmission on the Hexa is manufactured by ZF.

This is the same company that even supplies transmission to Jaguar Land Rover.

The plastic quality, the overall fit and finish of the materials has gone up a few notches. The Hexa will get a lot more features than the Aria and it will be a lot more modern in styling too. There is the new-generation Tata steering wheel on the Hexa and even a new touchscreen Harman system with 10 speakers. The Hexa will be launched sometime mid-2016.
