The Japanese carmaker Nissan has had a presence in India since 2005. The brand has tried and sold many types of cars in India. Currently the manufacturer has got only three cars in it’s line-up. The Kicks, Magnite and the GTR. While the Magnite is doing well and the Kicks in the need of a facelift, the brand is yet to offer a full-size or 4WD SUV in its portfolio. In this article, we will talk about 2 Nissan SUVs we should get in the Indian car market.

What is the C-segment SUV lineup in India?

Nissan Terra

The Nissan Terra is a two-wheel or four-wheel drive, truck-based compact SUV, manufactured and marketed by Nissan. Nissan could potentially position the Terra as a rugged, off-road-focused vehicle. This would give the brand a competitor against SUVs like the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster in the Indian market. The car gets a 2.5-litre diesel engine with options for a six-speed manual or seven speed automatic gearbox. Some of the cool features that the Terra gets are an eight inch touchscreen display, intelligent around view monitor w/ moving object detection, intelligent rear view mirror, blind spot warning, lane departure warning and rear flip-down entertainment monitor (with HDMI input). This is one the most wanted Nissan SUVs in India.

Nissan SUVs Nissan Patrol

The Patrol is available in Australia, Central and South America, South Africa, parts of Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The SUV is petrol-powered, all-wheel drive which produces 275bhp at a peak torque of 394Nm. It’s a big full size SUV that if bought to India will compete with the Range Rover and Toyota Land Cruiser. This car will have a very different set of customers in India. The Patrol is a great off-roader and can wear tons of modifications. This on the Nissan SUVs that can become the company’s flagship product in India and create interest in the brand from luxury SUVs buyers.
