Tata Safari 400 launched for INR 14.6 lakhs (on-road)

Tata Motors today launched a new variant of the Safari Storme VX powered by a new 2.2L VARICOR 400 engine.The newest addition to the Safari Storme family, the Safar Storme VX is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 drive options, and is priced at INR 14.6 lakhs for the 4X2 option, with the VX 4X4 option priced at INR 16 lakhs.

With renewed 154bhp power, the new 2.2-litre VARiCOR 400 engine now produces 400Nm of torque, delivered through a new six-speed manual gearbox, with a self-adjusting clutch, for a perfect balance for power, performance and a car like feel. With power delivered to all-4 wheels with a Shift-on-the fly four-wheel drive system, the vehicle is fitted with Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which enables the vehicle to negotiate any surface with ease.

The Safari Storme VX also features Tata Motors new integrated CONNECTNEXT system with 6-speaker surround sound by Harman™, all routed to Tata Motors new signature steering wheel. Designed with 3 spokes, the new steering wheel, boasts smart control features and an ergonomic grip, for superior command and convenience. The new CONNECTNEXT system has contemporary features like – Speed Dependent Volume Control, Bluetooth™ Hands Free, with CD/MP3/Radio/Aux/USB and iPod connectivity, Phone Book Download, Audio Streaming and a Reverse Parking Sensor Display.

Performance & Safety: The new Safari Storme VX is a refined vehicle, delivering a performance of 0 – 100 km/hr in less than 13 seconds. The new VARICOR 400 engine, turbocharged with VTT (Variable Turbine Technology), delivers 156 PS power & 400 Nm torque, providing easy drivability, swifter response and lower NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), with fuel efficiency at 13.9 km/l as per ARAI. The 4X4 variant also features ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) technology, enabling engagement of the 4X4 or 4X2 mode on the move.

The new Safari Storme has been updated with a newly integrated CONNECTNEXT Infotainment System by Harman™, along with Tata Motors new Signature Multi-Functional Steering Wheel, with integrated controls for added driver convenience.
