Mahindra S101 spotted- Production-ready

The Mahindra S101 is now production-ready as we spot in the latest images.

The S101 will be the micro-SUV from Mahindra that will be competing with the likes of Hyundai i20 Active and Fiat Avevntura. This is a crossover that will be powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel three-cylinder engines. These engines have been developed jointly by Mahindra and Ssangyong and these two engines will be used only by Mahindra.

The Mahindra S101 will be making its way into production soon and it will be launched around January 2016. This new micro SUV will be even getting an AMT— automated manual transmission— that has been developed by Mahindra with engineering inputs from Ricardo.

The Mahindra S101 getting features like in-dash music system with bluetooth, aux and USB connectivity, steering mounted audio controls,  voice command, dual airbags and ABS.

The S101 will be a five-seater SUV and it will be priced at INR 6-9 lakhs. The new S101 is likely to be named as XUV100 and it has a monocoque chassis. There will even daytime running lamps on the S101. This micro SUV is for urban buyers, majorly first-time car buyers.
