The seven-seater SUV segment in India is getting democratized. One no longer needs to look at big cars like the Fortuner or Endeavour to fulfill the need for a big 7 seater. For people looking for more space along with better ground clearance, seven-seater SUVs are the way to go. The Hyundai Alcazar name signifies reliability and indulgence while drawing its inspiration from the royal lineage of castles and palaces, denoting grandeur, spaciousness and solidity. The Hyundai Creta is the highest selling Hyundai car in India and they are looking towards boosting its sales. And now the brand is planning to launch a new seven-seater SUV named the Alcazar pretty soon in India.
Hyundai Alcazar is expected to come with the same engine and transmission options as the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Creta comes with three engine options. The 1.5-litre Diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre petrol engine on the other hand produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. There is also a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine option with the Hyundai Creta. It produces 138bhp and 242Nm of torque. Hyundai Creta comes with manual, DCT and automatic transmission options.
Safety has become a major car buying decision in India. People are more aware of safety ratings and other advanced safety features present with the cars. The new Hyundai Alcazar is expected to come with ADAS like the MG Gloster in India. Hyundai calls it SmartSense in the international market. The 2021 Hyundai Alcazar will come with SmartSense features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning, automatic emergency braking while reversing, and rear cross-traffic alert. Additionally, features like smart cruise control, highway driving assist and lane departure warning can also be expected on the three-row Hyundai Alcazar SUV.
Hyundai has officially revealed the car now so we expect the launch of Alcazar by the end of this year. Many new car launches are expected in this segment. The new 2021 Hyundai Alcazar will compete against Tata Safari, upcoming Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus, Seltos based MPV and other new launches. Like the other SUVs in the segment, third-row seat space will not be the best for two adult passengers.
While the new SUV will be similar to Hyundai Creta, it will not be a carbon copy of the same with an additional third row of seats. The 2021 Hyundai Alcazar is expected to come with a revised front bumper and grille and a different alloy wheel design.
