New generation Maruti Vitara Brezza coming this year

The Maruti Vitara Brezza when launched in 2016 became quickly the king of the compact SUV segment. The car was built completely by the Indian arm of Maruti Suzuki and was a hit. Butch looks, good space, decent engine/specifications and was paired with sensible Maruti pricing. The car has ruled the sales charts ever since with the Hyundai Venue recently coming in to give it serious competition. After four years now the car is going to see serious competition from a lot of new entrants like the Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.

This means that its time to get a new generation Maruti Vitara Brezza by the end of the year. Below we talk about this car and what is going to be expected.

New generation Maruti Vitara Brezza Specifications

The new Maruti Vitara Brezza will continue to be a sub-four meter SUV. It will be no based on the companies new Heartect platform. The car will also increase its width and height. The car is currently 1,790mm wide and 1,640mm tall. Maruti will mostly give this car 17-inch tyres to match the Mahindra XUV300. In terms of engine options, the 1.5-litre petrol engine which comes with a manual and automatic gearbox will be continued. The car might get better Smart Hybrid technology here. Apart from that, the new generation Maruti Vitara Brezza could be the first Maruti to get the 1.5-litre diesel engine in the BS6 era after the company decided to discontinue diesel engines when the norms kicked in.

New Maruti Vitara Brezza Design and features

The car will continue to come with the butch design language and will mostly continue the strong SUV silhouette for the side profile. The grille, headlights, lower bumper and fog lamps will be all new. The door panels, tailgate and bumper will also see a major redesign. On the inside, we will see a bigger touchscreen on offer, new seats, refreshed instrument cluster and completely redesigned center console. The car could also finally get features like – advanced connected car tech, 6 airbags, sunroof and wireless charging. Maruti is usually very conservative in adding features and we will see them increase focus on comfort and space in the car. Safety will also be something we will look forward to see this car improving. The car currently gets four stars in Global NCAP safety ratings.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza will most likey launch by the end of the year in whole new avatar. The new generation Maruti Vitara Brezza will be priced between Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs. We expect six variants with each engine-transmission option in the Vitara Brezza.
