India is readily accepting SUVs at an alarming rate. Every new manufacturer and old is planning their strategy around SUV segments and is planning to one-up the other with features, price, space and other points of focus. So that means Honda has to get rid of the WRV. Yes the WRV was a good car but with the segment pushing for more SUV like stance and features, its days are numbered. There will soon be a new Honda Venue competition compact SUV in the market. We are going to find out soon. Below are our expectations.
The car apart from being a sub-four meter car will have a tall roof and get more boxy attributes that one looks for in a SUV. Honda will want to make sure that the car is built for India. A product that takes India specific needs in mind. So high ground clearance, 16inch-17inch wheels, loads of bootspace and second row comfort and a butch front look that people like. The car will take a lot of inspiration at the front from the Honda Amaze and the rear could sport a sleep look from the Honda City in terms of the taillights. Other than that the car will get a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engine. Both will come with manual and CVT transmissions. The cars might also get driving modes and ESP.
