Volkswagen India’s major exports are to Mexico and the Vento underwent the Latin NCAP test. The sedan that is tested is the latest iteration of the Vento that is sold in India. Both the Ventos used in the crash test were manufactured in Volkswagen’s Chakan plant. It has the three chrome slate front grille that makes it look somewhat like the Jetta. The Vento got five-star rating in adult passenger safety and three for child.

The Vento was tested for the front and even side impacts. The Vento is sold with two airbags and this is the same criteria it fulfils in India as well. Volkswagen is one automaker that is concerned about safety and it does a good job in protecting the occupants.

The Volkswagen Vento is exported from India as a left-hand drive sedan with a 1.6-litre petrol engine. This is available with a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic as well.
