Honda Discontinuation

Honda Civic Diesel

Honda Cars India has announced that it will be looking to make its local operations more efficient for a sustained future and thus a number of steps will be taken. The Japanese manufacturer will stop production duties at its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, leaving the Tapukara plant in Rajasthan as the sole factory for the global auto major, which relies on the sales of City and Amaze largely. As a result Civic and CR-V may no longer be made and sold.

Engine of ZR-V

Will Honda launch ZR-V in India?

The international market ZR-V is expected to come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine along with the 1.5-litre petrol engine. The Honda compact Hybrid systems are also expected to be seen on the this new 2021 ZR-V. Giving it an engine from the Honda Amaze will keep the prices in check and provide an offering that is friendly on the manufacturing process.

The new Honda ZR-V to keep the costs low may come with Amaze’s petrol and diesel engine. The 1498cc Diesel engine on the Amaze produces 78.9bhp and 160Nm. The 1.3-litre Petrol engine on the Amaze produces 88bhp and 110Nm. Honda may tune the engines slightly for better performance in the compact SUV. A turbo petrol option will also make the new car much more competitive.

More about Platform

The Honda ZR-V is expected to be made on the Amaze Platform. For India, it is expected to be a successor of the WR-V. The Honda WR-V is currently with a BS6 engine and with the introduction of the ZR-V, we are expecting the same engine to continue on this vehicle. The WR-V is not a fair competition to the current generation compact SUVs sold in the Indian car market. The ZR-V will make Honda a worthy competitor in this segment.

Expected Features on ZR-V

The new Honda ZR-V may borrow a lot of features from the Amaze. Like the Honda Amaze, we expect comfortable ride over all surfaces, noiseless suspension over broken roads. Advanced safety features like ABS+EBD, dual airbags, ELR seatbelts and ISOFIX anchor points may also an appearance. Both manual and automatic transmission will also be present. Like the Honda Amaze, the ZR-V may also feature comfortable seats, diesel-CVT, connected car tech, and better boot space.
