BEST gets Tata Electric Bus first batch

Tata Motors has begun the delivery of electric bus for BEST – Mumbai. BEST ( Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) has got 26 Tata Electric Bus units delivered under the Gross Cost Contract. This is out of the 340 units contract under Gol’s FAME II initiative. This is the largest order from a metro city under Fame II initiative.

Tata Ultra Urban

This Tata Electric Bus is a 25 seater version Electric AC bus. They were flagged off from Nariman point in Mumbai. Tata has also been put in-charge for the building and maintaining the charging infrastructure at different bus depots in Bombay.

Tata Ultra Urban AC is also have optimised driver passenger comfort. They also have a lift mechanism for specially-abled passengers. The seats look premium and seem to be optimised for interior spaciousness. Also, there are charging ports and Wifi Hotspots. Lastly, the ingress is easy with wide entry and exit.

The engine is equipped regenerative braking and ITS (Intelligent Transport System ) for better operation and optimization of the battery.

Tata Maintainance

Although BEST has its own power supply Tata power is going to maintain the up and downstream electrical facilities at charging stations. Tata Auto Components charges with Design development and sourcing and supply of select components to Tata Motors.
