India Specific Hyundai Micro SUV Spied

A test mule of the Hyundai Micro SUV was spotted by South Korean journalist. Although this car was spotted in South Korea it is expected to be in the development stage for India specifically. This SUV will take a while to get launched in India but it surely has the power to make Hyundai’s SUV lineup in India Airtight.

The Spyshots clearly show a vehicle that has a footprint smaller than the venue but has butch SUV looks. This does look bigger than the Santro but is expected to be made on the same platform. The complete camouflage does not reveal much detail but there are few details that can be seen.

Details Revealed

Just from the Images, you can see that the car looks bulky. It does have a tall boy stance and this is further accentuated with bumper-mounted headlights. There is a big mesh-shaped grill in the centre which reminds us of the venue.

The side shows a straight roofline with the C-pillar being thick. This also brings to the notice that the rear door handles are window mounted to create a clean door look. There are spacers put at the rear and the camouflage over them does not reveal any details from the rear. Only the lights to be way inside than usual which might indicate a wide rear Tail lamp.

Engine Expectations

The engine on this Hyundai Micro SUV would be a 3 cylinder engine. This might be the same one as the Santro. Also giving it the 1.0-litre turbo engine might look a mouth-watering deal but then the production costs might exceed than what this segment allows.

To provide a much clearer idea of what is there in this segment take a look at the rivals which include Mahindra KUV 100 and Tata’s upcoming HBX. The price bracket is approximately 5 to 8 lakhs in which if this engine is offered it might be only for the top trims.

Also, the transmissions will have to be worked on to be able to offer a manual and Automatic in a budget price. As of now no official announcement of a Micro SUV by Hyundai India but looking at where the market is heading they just have one car missing in the SUV lineup.
