How much load can the Kia Seltos carry?

The mid-size SUV segment in India has been ruled by the Hyundai Creta for a fairly long time. Kia entered the Indian market with Seltos last year and for a very brief amount was the best seller in the mid-size SUV segment in India. Kia Seltos became very popular thanks to its aggressive looks and impressive features. Different modifications have also been made to the SUV, by enthusiast. The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. The vlogger has a couple of farms and the crop is ready to be harvested. He is asked to carry all the grains that are harvested in the Kia Seltos. He himself has made quite a lot of videos testing the different aspects of the Kia Seltos. The owner of the SUV here has the base variant of the Kia Seltos with a 1.5L Diesel engine.

The owner successfully packs 13 sacks of grain inside the Kia Seltos.  The total combined weight only of the grain sacks equal to 13*50=650kgs. Arun also had to fold the rear seats of his SUV to provide additional space for the sacks. The Kia Seltos comes with 433 litres of boot space which is more than enough for everyday usage of the car.

Performance on Load

After packing everything up, the owner gets inside the car and starts driving it. Diesel engines are known for their torquey nature and the Seltos’ engine was no exception. It smoothly pulled all the weight and the vlogger can be heard saying that the Seltos is doing it effortlessly. Once he reaches his house, he even drives it up a ramp with all the weight and the Seltos did that smoothly too.

The combined weight of the SUV with the grain sacks was so much that the rear wheels were nearly touching the rear wheel arches at the back of the SUV. Arun to show the performance of the car under load also floored the gas pedal and the SUV provided quick acceleration as normal with load. Though the Kia Seltos will rarely be used as cargo mover, it does not mean that the SUV cannot do it. The performance and load taking capacity of the Kia Seltos proves its strong build quality and performance efficiency.
