Development on Bugatti’s Veyron hyper-car successor, the Chiron seems to be coming along nicely, with a brace of test-mules being spotted recently around the streets of Italy. Looking dark & dapper in matte-black, the duo were sporting lesser camouflage than ever before. Observations suggest that the exterior lines appear to draw inspiration from the Vision GT concept that Bugatti had showcased some time ago. This is confirmed from the elliptical crease that’s visible when observed in profile. Bugatti designers seem to have put some work in, resulting in a nice, clean roof-line that ensures adequate attention being drawn to the brand-new rear end.

Powered by the same mid-ship W16 engine, the Chiron is likely to see power being boosted to 1500 Bhp, if reports are to go by. Top-speed should be in the vicinity of over 290 Mph, helped in no-small measure by the dedicated electric motors, if the same reports are to be believed. The increased power displacement appears to have dictated the ‘hollowed-out’ design at the rear, in a bid to ensure that the new-hyper car gets optimized air-flow management.

The new-Bugatti Chiron is not expected until next year, but that hasn’t stopped prospective buyers, many of them existing owners,  from signing over that cheque in favour of the Bugatti Chiron.
