Jeep will be launching the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler Unlimited next year.

These will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. As per the earlier plan, Fiat was due to launch the Jeep brand at the 2014 Auto Expo, however this never happened.

The Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler Unlimited will be launched this February.

Both these will be coming with petrol and diesel engine options mostly. Atlas the Cherokee will be. The Wrangler will be offered with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and the Grand Cherokee will be coming with a 6.4-litre petrol engine and the diesel will be a 3.0-litre V6 Ecodiesel mostly. All these will be offered with a six-speed automatic transmission. No manual will be offered for the Indian car market and these will be complete body unit import (CBU). The Wrangler Unlimited is an off-roader vehicle that has been built for this purpose and can be modified further to make it an impeccable off-roader vehicle. The Wrangler will be making a new segment.

The Grand Cherokee will be the luxurious SUV and it will still be a capable off-roader too.

The Grand Cherokee will be competing with the Land Rovers, Mercedes-Benz and the Audis, against the mid-size SUVs. Jeep will also be launching the Made-in-India SUV as well in 2017, which will be exported to other markets. This SUV will be a compact one and will be priced under INR 20 lakhs.
