Kia entered the Indian market last year, yet is doing quite well in terms of sales. Kia Seltos was also the 2nd most selling SUV and one of the top10 cars sold in the Indian car market till the previous month.  The test car for today has an eye-catching punchy orange colour. Design and Exteriors

The flip-key with the SUV is same as HTE variant with lock, unlock and boot open feature. The Kia Seltos HTK rivals the EX variant of the Hyundai Creta.  The tiger-nose grille with chrome lining with projector headlamps, fog lamps and other similar styling bits as the Seltos HTE variant.  You get 16-inch steel rims with wheel cover. Differences in this variant include turn indicators on ORVM, roof rails, body-coloured door handles.  Still there is no wiper and defogger at the rear of the SUV. You get a rear spoiler, LED taillamps, false diffuser.  You get 400+litres of boot space.  There is no parcel tray in this variant of the car.

Interiors and Features

The moment you see the touchscreen and piano black finish of the interiors, you realize that you are not in a simple car.  Silver accents throughout the interiors of the SUV add a unique touch to the interiors.  You also get steering mounted controls with silver accents on the wheel. You get manual AC and also an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play.   You also get dynamic rear parking camera. Storage spaces are also readily available.  Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing locks and high-speed alert including others.  You get 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.  Driver seat is also height adjustable.

The rear seats of the Kia Seltos HTK are a little disappointing due to absence of additional features over HTE.  You get rear AC vents, fast charger, fixed headrest, no armrest and 60:40 split. The Kia Seltos HTK costs Rs 10.5 lakh ex-showroom. For Rs. 50,000 extra you are getting quite a lot of stuff over the HTE variant.

Engine and Performance

The HTK Diesel variant of the car comes with a 1.5L K9K engine which produces 113.4bhp@4000rpm and peak torque of 250Nm@1500-2750rpm. You get a 6-speed manual gearbox with 20.8kmpl ARAI claimed mileage.

The HTK petrol variant comes with a 1.5L K9K petrol engine which produces 113.4bhp@6300rpm and a peak torque output of 114Nm@4500rpm. You also get a 6-speed manual transmission with the SUV and ARAI claimed mileage 16.8kmpl.
