Fiat has introduced three Abarth badged or powered products for the Indian car market, beginning with the Abarth 595, then it is the Abarth Punto and the Avventura – Powered by Abarth. When we spoke to FCA’s President and Managing Director, Kevin Flynn he stated, “The Avventura isn’t a part of the global portfolio of Abarth, hence we had to retain the Fiat badge for the same.”

When we spoke in detail to the Britisher, he stated that they wanted to get a fast crossover for the Indian market and this was the only possible way. On the other hand when we asked him if we could see more Abarth badged or powered products in the future, he nodded. When we hinted at the Linea, his response was, “As a part of the Abarth badging, there has never been a sedan in its range.

However, we have some different set of ideas.”

Flynn didn’t say a no and he hasn’t even told a yes. So there can be a Linea Powered by Abarth, but the brand has plans to get some more performance oriented vehicles to the Indian market and these should be a complete import unit.

This is still a mystery. The 500L that has spotted isn’t being tested by Fiat themselves and it used by competition for evaluation purposes.
