MG Gloster to be launched with 4WD and ADAS

MG, the British car manufacturer in India has been on the spotlight for quite some time now. After successfully launching MG Hector and Hector Plus, the company is on its way to launch a new SUV very soon.  We have already written a few articles about the MG Gloster in India. Now the car has been seen showcasing some very important details. Find out below about MG Gloster with 4WD and ADAS.

What is new?

The latest spy shots on the internet show you the rear end of the SUV. The car is not covered with any camouflage and looks production-ready.  Here you can clearly see the MG logo and Gloster badging. If you see carefully on the lower left side, you will see the 4WD and ADAS badging. 

Internet Inside is also mentioned confirming Connected Car tech. The taillight cluster, Quad exhaust pipes, and logos are the highlights in the spy shots of the MG Gloster. 

What is 4WD?

As the name suggests, the 4WD badging refers to four-wheel drive capabilities of the new SUV.  This feature alone will attract a large number of enthusiasts towards the new MG Gloster. 

What is ADAS?

ADAS refers to Advanced Driver Assistance System.  This system includes several safety features for the aid of drivers during driving. Blind Spot Detection, Front Collision Warning, Lane Mitigation Alert are some of the expected features under this System.

MG Gloster’s official teaser also showcased Collision Avoidance System in the SUV which can be a part of ADAS. More about MG Gloster with 4WD and ADAS below.

Powertrain and Competition

MG Gloster, when launched, will compete against the Ford Endevaour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4.  It can also come with a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine with 224PS power and 360Nm of torque. MG can provide a 2.0L twin-turbo Diesel engine with 217PS of power and 480Nm of torque. 

The petrol engine will come with a 6-speed manual/automatic transmission. The Diesel engine may only come with 8-speed automatic transmission. The Gloster is expected to make it to the market by the start of next year. This car could compete with the Fortuner and might create a great comparison with the new gen of the Toyota Fortuner which is also expected around the same time.
