We had broken this story a while ago, and we have got back with confirmed information. Datsun will be unveiling the GO-CROSS or GO-X at the Tokyo Motor Show this month. Datsun is gearing up to launch the RediGO in India and the next product in the pipeline is the GO-CROSS. The GO-CROSS will also be based on the CMF-A platform and will be the company’s next crossover for the Indian market.

Renault was the first to get Kwid on CMF-A, next in line are Datsun’s RediGO and then it shall be GO-CROSS. The GO-CROSS will be powered by Nissan’s petrol engine and will also get ZF’s AMT (automated manual transmission) as well.

The GO-CROSS will be a crossover and the fourth product under Datsun,” stated a source close to the company operations who didn’t want to reveal his identity. The RediGO will have SUV-like stance, with a ground clearance of about 180-190mm and this will be one of the strong points of this compact SUV.

This will be launched in 2017 and will be based on the new CMF-A platform that Renault and Nissan have jointly developed. The first product from this platform is the newly launched Kwid. There is still no clarity if this vehicle will be a five-seater or a 5+2, but ideally it should be a five-seater as the GO+ is going well for Nissan and they will not want to disturb the sales of this compact MUV.

Datsun isn’t too far from launching the RediGO and this will be the company’s next major launch and their third product too. The RediGO will be the first compact SUV and another segment first for Datsun. We approached Nissan for a statement on this, however we are yet to get an answer on it.
