PM Modi’s New CAR

The PMO ( Prime Minister’s Office) had purchased a for our Prime Minister. This was the Range Rover Sentinel. Before we get to know more about this car let’s get to know more about the car that our PM Modi has used in the past.

Previous cars

Prime minister Modi in his days as the Chief Minister as Gujarat had a Scorpio. This was a Bulletproof version of the Scorpio. As he progressed to the PM position the PMO offered a BMW 7 series. As this car was getting old in today’s time and lacked the safety features which are offered in the Range Rover Sentinel it was replaced. Range Rover Sentinel

The Range Rover Sentinel is a car that is a part of the SVO section of Range rover. SVO stands for Special Vehicle Operations and this department makes vehicles which takes luxury and safety to another level.

This also included the SV Autobiography and other special versions of the Range rover cars.

The Range Rover Sentinel that our PM Modi uses has 6 main features. These include non-shattering bulletproof glass. Along with that its cabin has a complete bulletproof safety as well. The car also has other vehicle fragment protection and from other improvised explosive devices.

Integral to Range Rover Sentinel’s Protection Cell are its roof and under-floor blast-protection. Capable of withstanding blasts in accordance with ERV 2010 and PAS 300, they add a further level of defence against multi-angled attacks.

The tyres of the vehicle are equipped with run-flat technology too. This allows the car to make out of a flat tyre situation for a distance of 50 Km at 80 Km/h. Lastly, this car has an emergency escape system which allows the PM Modi to escape even if the car’s doors are unusable. To know more about this car watch the video below

How fast is it?

Due to the extra 360 armouring on this car, it almost weighs 4 tonnes. To give u an idea of how heavy the car is, the regular Range Rover weighs only half of it. This definitely takes a toll on its engine. The Engine is a 5 litre which produces 375 BHP of power.

There is less power than the regular range rover but the car has more torque. This car can do 0-100 under 10secs which is an excellent performance for a car which is that heavy. The wheels are also 20inch providing better comfort. And the suspension has been upgraded to take the extra weight.

This car is expected to keep the PM Modi extremely safe while his commute.

Buying this vehicle was a very good decision at this time. The land rover is owned by Tata Motors, so the money spent is technically benefitting an Indian company. Also, tata motors has donated a lot to India in this pandemic of coronavirus.
